Wives love your husbands

Updated: Jan 8, 2022

So much is often mentioned about husbands loving their wives, you read every blog post write about that and most often you find preachers from every Christian ethnic group preach about how a women should love her husband. And yes the subject of how a women oath to love her husband is really less know, not much time is spent spending time really diving into how a women is to show her love for her husband, I personally believe that the bible rather teaches women rather to focus on the act of loving and not the mere verbal affirmation. Below are 3 verses that teach wives how to love their husbands:

  1. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Hebrews 13:4

As much as this applies to both the husband and wife we must be reminded that the writer of the book of Hebrews is highlighting just how important commitment is, how staying faithful to your husband as a wife is key to the survival of your marriage. But we should not forget that this applies to both the husband and the wife. Click here to find out how Cheating destroys marriages.

2. And so train the young women to love their husbands and children, Titus 2:4

A lot of times we hear ignorant preachers speaking about the fact that the husband is the one that is called to love and not the wife, well Titus 2:4 blows this notion out of the water.

3. Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, 1 Peter 3:1-22

We should not forget that often action speak louder than words, and that a war of words only destroys a union, a wife that knows how to hold her tongue is surly much more valuable than rubies.

As actions speak louder than the verbal affirmation of her emotions verbally uttered, we should all know as both husbands and wives what our roles are in the house hold.
